You’ve been in American Literature for 4.5 weeks now. How has the class been going for you so far?

Prompt: The class has been going very well for me. I have been learning everything pretty smoothly and it comes easy to me. I feel like I am being taught well and effectively. If the rest of the year goes like how this first 4.5 weeks have gone, then it should be an easy year. The material and assignments make a lot of sense to me. I hope it stays this way for the rest of the year.

Summary: Today we read and analyzed the poem, "Because I could not stop for Death."

Reflection: I learned that I shouldn't fear death and should live life to the fullest.

Prompt: Both poems by Robert Frost explore the passage of time and life’s changing moments. Write about a time when something in your life changed more quickly than you expected. How does this experience connect to Frost’s idea that “Nothing gold can stay”?

Write about a moment when you had to step out of your comfort zone.

Prompt: In the poem, the speaker and his neighbor meet each year to repair a wall. Describe a time when you had to set or respect a boundary with a friend, family member, or classmate. How did it help or hurt your connection with that person?
