It’s Homecoming Week! 🎉 What do you love most about being part of the Lakeside community? How do you show off your school spirit? What is your favorite Homecoming tradition or event?

Prompt: I really like how supportive the Lakeside community is. It seems that whenever you need help with something, someone is always there to help out. I show off my school spirit by always wearing my Lakeside merch. I also participate in the spirit weeks and do the themes for all of the football games. My favorite homecoming tradition is the football game. I think that game means more to everyone than any other game. More people show up for those games and it is just a great environment.

Summary: Today we took a test on the poem from earlier in the week.

Reflection: I learned how to use an annotated poem to answer questions about it.

Prompt: Both poems by Robert Frost explore the passage of time and life’s changing moments. Write about a time when something in your life changed more quickly than you expected. How does this experience connect to Frost’s idea that “Nothing gold can stay”?

Prompt: In the poem, the speaker and his neighbor meet each year to repair a wall. Describe a time when you had to set or respect a boundary with a friend, family member, or classmate. How did it help or hurt your connection with that person?
